The Scania Aerobus. Mostly in service in South America. This is the General Urquiza.

Neat! Looks somewhat aerodynamic.

Who wants to chip in so I can import one, convert it into an RV with a bunch of bunk beds, and then bring it around the country, picking up various Opponauts along the way?

Well, that’s one way of putting it.

Irritatingly, Scania apparently reused the name “Aerobus” for a model of step-down bus, so searching for further info is hard. There’s the General Urquiza, one called El Condor, and only a few others that I’ve seen - there may not have been many of these made at all.

I believe these are also referred to as marital aids.

Aero-dynamic? What’s that?

It’s something that makes buses look like dongs instead of bricks. I dunno.

It reminds me of The Big Bus.

That’s aerodongnamics.

Buses, sadly, have to comply with overall length regulations so you have to compromise between aerodynamics and seats. Seats usually win.

I had the same idea...

Hey, this is aerodynamic (ish) and it’s not that dong shaped...(actually quite beautiful, rather...)

Yes. Looks awesome with the airplane-like fuselage and windows. Besides, Swedish power! #Buslopnik
That front bumper looks a bit knackered...

You, internet person, are showing your age.
And yes, it reminded me of it, too.

It’s disturbing how much I want this.
I would paint it like a catfish

It’s not aerodynamic, but it is very space efficient.
Besides, at the speeds that these usually operate, aero is not the concern.

Hot tub? Bus? Why not?
![]() 05/13/2015 at 11:55 |

You’d think at 65 mph on the freeway all day, aerodynamics would make a difference.

So many people of these buses like you show don’t drive for 8 continuous hours. They drive half an hour, park and let the tourists out for 3 hours, drive 45 minutes go park. Sure there are some that go go go but those are the minority
